ATTN: All SxG Members
Some stuff has recently come up in my life and I need to attend to it. I will be taking a temporary leave from MSN and my Xbox. SxG Munin will be overlooking all activities in SxG while I'm away. I wish you luck and I'll be back soon.

Thanks,
Sync

Realy Old Bargain Bin Games: Brute Force

Brute Force was a tactical shooter that was released in 2003. It is compatible with the 360. In the game, you control a sqaud of four elite soldiers, each with a special ability. Tex, the heavy man, can use two heavy weapons at the same time. Hawk, the scout, can go invisible. Brutus, the shock trooper, can regenerate health. And Flint, the sniper, can auto target enemies.

The game-play itself is fun. You run around the well designed levels shooting and killing everything that moves, and the story of the game is decent. The game is from a third person perspective, and controling squad members is easy.

Included with the game is the option to issue squad commands, but it works horribly. When I was trying to give two members a stand ground command, only one would stay put. You have to hold down a button to get to the screen, select a member, and give a command. But two members cannot do the same task at the same time, such as giving covering fire.

The dialouge in the game, if one wanted to call it that, is absolutely attrocious. All of the lines are badly written and sound like they are coming through a radio made in the 30's. Most of the lines delivered are emotionless as well. The one exception to this is the commander of your squad, who talks thourgh your earpiece. His dialouge lines are well delivered and don't seem forced.

Anyway, I would rate Brute Force a 6/10 if pressed to give a number. The gameplay is good, but the squad commands and dialouge are pretty abysmal. But for the $5.00 I payed for it at a local best buy, the game is definately worth trying out if you are bored waiting for Gears of War 2 to come out. If you can find a copy, I would say try it out.
